Book two-hundred-and-five: Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married

Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married (1997)
Marian Keyes

Rating: 4/5
[Re-reading]

I must be going through a re-reading phase. Probably because I am too busy to start a brand new book (which has the risk of keeping me up very late to find out what happens). That being said, this still managed to keep me up, even though I know very well what happens. I guess that proves it a good book – even though Lucy is quite annoying. Ha.

Lucy Sullivan is getting married... Or is she?

Lucy doesn't even have a boyfriend. (To be honest, she isn't that lucky in love.) But Mrs. Nolan - a local psychic - has read her tarot cards and predicted that Lucy will be walking down the aisle within the next year.

Lucy's roommates, Karen and Charlotte, are appalled at the news. If Lucy leaves, it could disrupt their wonderful lifestyle of eating take-out, drinking too much wine, bringing men home and never vacuuming. And there's that small matter of no boyfriend. But then she meets Gus - gorgeous, reliable Gus. And she starts to wonder if he could be the future Mr. Lucy Sullivan. Or could it be the handsome Chuck? Or Daniel, the world's biggest flirt?

Maybe the idea of Lucy Sullivan getting married isn't so unlikely after all...
